Choice Luftwaffe 2nd Mod. Dagger (Item LUFT 6-1)

DESCRIPTION: This is one of the more desirable yellow-handled daggers of the Luftwaffe blade by (SMF). The grip, scabbard, fittings are all choice. Even the portepee is not bad-unusual. The velvet-backed hangers are in really good shape. The scabbard has its dark original anodized finish completely intact. They really don't come much better. This is a good one.

Luftwaffe 2nd Mod. Dagger (Item LUFT 6-2)

DESCRIPTION: This is a choice Luftwaffe dagger with white grip. No maker (issue). The scabbard is very good-no dents, no dings, minor surface rust, cleanable. Blade's of average nice. Again, what more can we say? I'm sure T. Witman would have plenty more to say, but to us, this is sufficient. It is a very nice example. No more, no less.

First Mod. Luftwaffe Dagger (Item LUFT 6-3)

DESCRIPTION: This one is a very nice example of the earlier Luftwaffe officer's dagger. A nice example by F&A Hilbig Solingen (rare maker!). here is also a word under the maker as to what they obviously called this model. It seems to work out to "Grefler" and under that there is a word that is partially obliterated from wear. It starts "STE___" and then second word "KR"??? This could also be the uniform merchant? It is also unusual in that the Sonnenrad swastika is gold colored in the front top, while copper colored in the back. The blade is a little bent at the tip as if some moron stuck it in a tree at some time or another. It has flight-group markings engraved into the blade just under the cross guard. It says "FHKG" and under this it has "28." OK. It has a few problems, but all in all they are becoming more rare-at least they early ones like this. So this one isn't bad at all and if you like polishing, it will clean up nice. Original brown leather strap for belt attachment. Most Luftwaffe leather was in brown.

Victory Ring of the Luftwaffe (Item LUFT 6-5)

DESCRIPTION: This is one of the most rare of the very rare German WW II Victory Rings that we managed to uncover in Stuttgart, Germany. For the story of how these were found and their history, see our description of the various Victory Rings, Item SS 3-3. When this initial group was bought we found the army style, the SS style, a special one for the Leibstandarte-SS, two styles for the Kriegsmarine, although these were the fewest. But, we wondered about the Luftwaffe since there were none identified as such. Now, through some later negotiations we have managed to get a very small group of them. At this time these must be considered the most rare of all the magnificent Victory Rings. The style is almost exactly the same as the army model that can be found on our site at Wehrmacht, Item WEHR 3-1. The major difference is that the swastika in the center of the shield. This swastika is reminiscent of the Hitler Youth diamond and this would be typical since most of the young aviators of the air arm had their beginnings in this organization's flying program, but also the configuration puts one in mind of a tail insignia of the various fighter planes and bombers of the Luftwaffe. This is a powerful ring. Most German rings were issued in size 10-10 1/2, sometimes 11. the shank of the ring has the stamp 835 for silver content. The enameling on this ring is spectacular! going all around the sides of the ring. These rings purportedly were never issued, but several of the companies were contracted to produce them. Had there been different results from the monumental fratricidal war these rings would have been given to generals, field marshals, and winners of the Knight's Cross by the heads of the various battle groups. Unfortunately the wonder weapons came too late. So now we have these reminders of what might have been. The condition is naturally very fine. This ring will be considered one of the most rare and sought-after items of Third Reich memorabilia. It's now available to the wise entrepreneur or collector. This is a chance to purchase one of the finest and most strikingly beautiful of all Reich relics.
