 LUFTWAFFE RING (Item LUFT 2-1)

DESCRIPTION: This beautiful silver ring was procured in Germany along with another in gold from the same source. It has two maker's marks inside with the stamp 835, which is the German designation for silver content as used on most Nazi-period rings. Very fine condition with a little wear on the swastika where it is clutched in the eagle's talons (one side only). The radio-operator gunner badge is the central design and is mounted on an onyx that is, in turn, mounted in a framing that is set in the ring's body. This is an especially handsome ring from aerial combat in WWII. This beautiful ring was procured in Germany along with a tremendous cashe of other Germanic jewelry (read about it in 'About Our Rings' on the title page). We found a few of these rings in silver and a smaller amount in gold.

Condor Legion

Condor Legion

Ring of the Condor Legion (Item LUFT 5-2)

DESCRIPTION: This is a ring made by Moroccan natives in Spain and sold to the Heldenfleiger of the Legion Condor in 1936. It is a handsome silver ring. Some of them have a thin, gold appliqué on the details. It has the (always) odd-looking eagle and swastika with the LC logo of the corps and various squadron markings on different ones that we find; sometimes P-188 and others might say Ju-88 or Me-109. Below this is the word España, Spain. The ring is a little bit crude when under the glass, but is a very rare item and quite pretty when worn and (not) under the glass. A great momento of the heroic battles against international communism. Germany sent the idealistic young Teutonic warriors to support General Franco against the red brigades to include America's rag-tag malcontents and Bolshevik street people, "The Abraham Lincoln Brigade." Completely original.

Victory Ring of the Luftwaffe (Item LUFT 6-5)

DESCRIPTION: This is one of the most rare of the very rare German WW II Victory Rings that we managed to uncover in Stuttgart, Germany. For the story of how these were found and their history, see our description of the various Victory Rings, Item SS 3-3. When this initial group was bought we found the army style, the SS style, a special one for the Leibstandarte-SS, two styles for the Kriegsmarine, although these were the fewest. But, we wondered about the Luftwaffe since there were none identified as such. Now, through some later negotiations we have managed to get a very small group of them. At this time these must be considered the most rare of all the magnificent Victory Rings. The style is almost exactly the same as the army model that can be found on our site at Wehrmacht, Item WEHR 3-1. The major difference is that the swastika in the center of the shield. This swastika is reminiscent of the Hitler Youth diamond and this would be typical since most of the young aviators of the air arm had their beginnings in this organization's flying program, but also the configuration puts one in mind of a tail insignia of the various fighter planes and bombers of the Luftwaffe. This is a powerful ring. Most German rings were issued in size 10-10 1/2, sometimes 11. the shank of the ring has the stamp 835 for silver content. The enameling on this ring is spectacular! going all around the sides of the ring. These rings purportedly were never issued, but several of the companies were contracted to produce them. Had there been different results from the monumental fratricidal war these rings would have been given to generals, field marshals, and winners of the Knight's Cross by the heads of the various battle groups. Unfortunately the wonder weapons came too late. So now we have these reminders of what might have been. The condition is naturally very fine. This ring will be considered one of the most rare and sought-after items of Third Reich memorabilia. It's now available to the wise entrepreneur or collector. This is a chance to purchase one of the finest and most strikingly beautiful of all Reich relics.

Richthofen Commemorative Ring, Goggled Skull (Item LUFT 7-4; WWI 5-1)

DESCRIPTION: This is a biker-looking ring that is definitely, most emphatically NOT a biker ring. This is an elegant and prodigiously important historical relic of the both WWI and WWII. The special denotation of the ring comes from the grim, but realistic, view that the German pilots had of the air war of WWI. The significance and morbid gravity was that death was the immutable Kamerad of the Kampfflieger, fighter pilot. The flyer knew that unless he were inordinately fortuitous that he would meet the Grim Reaper just as his enemies did that he so often sent to their doom. The grinning death's head was seen on jackets and on the fuselages of the planes very often though rather grotesque the skull often was the symbol not only of the war flyers, but also of the WWI Stosstruppen, Storm Troopers, and other elite units. It became the badge of the gallant and immortal heroes of combat. One look at this splendidly designed exquisite ring and it can be very expeditiously determined that this is the genuine article. It is tastefully designed, simple yet artistically convoluted enough to make it unique among death's head rings of the era. The skull is deeply set inside of the headpiece and chinstrap. The goggles on the forehead and the wings that surround and then sweep back forming the shank of the ring all join to make this such a jeweler's and designer's masterpiece. Although the ring was designed and offered to airmen of WWI (especially the men of the famed Richthofen Flying Circus), it carried over to WWII and the Luftwaffe personnel of the flying arm relished this ring and it became a very sought-after item of imposing attire. The inside shank has the almost obligatory "835" for silver content in the stamped form. Overall, this is one of the most awesome, magnificent rings we have ever found. It was made in Lüdenscheid where many jewelers were proud to manufacture such imaginative artistic offerings.

The badge
Luftwaffe Air Gunner's Ring (Item LUFT 18-9)

DESCRIPTION: Here is the ring favored by the German Air Force crews in WWII.  It looks like the Air Gunner’s Qualification Badge. The ring is one of those that we were able to purchase several years ago in Stuttgart. For more information about these items see on our home page -- a section that reads About our Rings and Silver Insignia  This ring however, is not pure "800" silver as most of our others are. It was die struck in “alpacca” and is so marked. Alpacca is the silver-like material that many of the Luftwaffe Honor goblets are made of.  It seems like only the Luftwaffe used alpacca. The rings are quite nice with great detail and offered at a great bargain price because unlike some of the other rings that were numbered in 10’s and 12's amount maybe we will have  two to five of these but by the time you order this ring there could be only one or two so don’t hesitate at this super price.
