Waffen SS Ring

Waffen SS Ring

 Waffen-SS (Item WAF 1-4)

DESCRIPTION: This ring is in the traditional SS setting of art-deco design and stamped 835 inside. The unique feature is that the SS runes are 3-dimensional rising above the enamel or Bakelite rectangular inset-and it is an inset. This ring is not the typical Allgemeine-SS style leading us to believe it was a jeweler-handmade piece for the Waffen-SS. This is a rather striking example of German WWII craftsmanship.

PRICE: $450.00

Waffen-SS Armband (Item WAF 1-6)

DESCRIPTION: This armband measuring 8 X 4 ½ inches is the band worn by persons who were helpers to the Waffen-SS personnel. Often they were Allgemeine-SS people who wore the black uniform. This would indicate that they were temporaries working with the military branch. There are many copies of this particular armband, but this is 100 percent original and in almost unused condition. Great SS item (important!).

Polish Gorget Captured by Waffen- Troops (Item WAF 1-7)

DESCRIPTION: This great Polish item is quite dramatic and was purchased at a recent Waffenborse in Stuttgart, Germany. It came from a man whose father was in the Waffen- in Poland in 1939. This was his souvenir of the campaign. It is a gorget-considered to be the last of armor that the world has seen. Smaller versions of this were actually worn by officers of the Polish Army in ceremonies. This example is the type that would hang in a high-officer's headquarters. It is in silver and beautifully hand engraved with various weapons featured. This is a very large piece measuring 9 x 9 ½ inches. The Polish eagle is separately adhered at the top with golden orb scepter and crown. The central them is the Slavic "Black Madonna." This is an actual painting in oil. This is truly a great rendering overall and a historically important piece.

WAFFEN- CHARLEMAGNE DIVISION RING (Item WAF 1-8)

DESCRIPTION: This Waffen- ring may have been used by other Waffen- units, but the information we received when the original of this ring was purchased in Germany was that this was the ring most used by members of the Sturmbataillon Charlemagne, the French volunteers who ably demonstrated their fiber as soldiers and human beings in a series of hopeless engagements on the eastern front against vastly superior (in number) enemy forces. They considered themselves in the vanguard of the European army that was the Waffen- in the battle for western civilization. Almost two thirds of these French troops died on the battlefield or in captivity and yet they are today still the victims of the relentless hate campaign against the Waffen- and its soldiers that is still propagated by both the free world and the still-healthy Soviet system. No work of prose, no words of praise, no exaggerated hyperbole could possibly do justice to the heroism and dedication of these warriors. The saga of the French Waffen- speaks for itself and let it be forever remembered as a triumph of the human spirit engaged in noble endeavor! Let this ring be at least a small memorial to their memory. The ring is in pure silver. They were produced as almost the last order given to Herr Schnell, the German jeweler mentioned in our explanation under “About Our Rings.” They are marked ‘835’ inside as this is the fine grade of silver that this renowned silversmith worked in. Almost all the foreign volunteer rings including the POA and Falange were produced by this man and in some cases the cap insignia, but only the ones in silver such as for the Italian SS and others such as the Czech-Deutsch volunteers. There is an officer’s model with a black-enamel top and the plain silver enlisted personal type. Instead of the usual Germanic oak-leaf design, they have some other floral design; perhaps French in artistic intent. This is very nice, rather plain, but artistically good.

PRICE: $250.00; enlisted's ring; $275.00; officer's ring

SS-Wiking Album (Item WAF 1-9)

DESCRIPTION: This is the standard Ehren Chronik, or issue photo album as bought or issued to German Army troops. They are one of the most beautiful and interesting of volumes and are filled with wonderful, professionally published pictures of the leaders of state and military in the front section, while pages are provided for soldiers' vital statistics, etc. There are several pages of photos of the early German campaigns in the west and a great page on the meaning of the Reich's war flag. The cover is leather with Ehren Chronik and the Iron Cross embossed in silver. None of the personal statistics has been entered, but at the back of the book where photo pages are provided there are 46 pictures applied from the former owner, a Waffen-SS man of the famous Wiking Division. They are pictures taken on the eastern front line and are very finely taken and developed. These are originals not copies or redeveloped. Tanks, Kubewagens, defenses, HQ, officers, enlisted personnel, bridge construction, and a really great picture of the Wiking Sonnenrad swastika constructed on the grounds in front of a temporary HQ. The swastika is composed of painted rocks. Neat! The album measures 9 ½ x 12 inches in very good condition. The pictures are mixed sizes 3 x 4, 3 ½ x 2 ½, 5 x 3 ½, 4 x 2 3/4, 2 ½ x 3, and two 1 3/4 x 2 tinies. The ones of the Viking swastika are 5 x 3 ½ inches. The historical importance of this particular soldier album cannot be minimized. Great!

Working Model of an MP-38 (Item WAF 1-10)

DESCRIPTION: This is a working model in every sense of the word except for the fact that it does not fire. This is a unique piece as far as we know. The collector who has consigned it says it was handmade on special German tools in a Munich machine shop. It was made to exact reduced plans for a Schmeisser machine pistol. As concerns guns and model guns this is the ultimate. Every single part is exactly like the full-sized gun. Every screw, every part, is incredibly precision milled and hand finished. Every thing that would move on the real gun moves on this miniature. The stock folds. the bolt goes back, a tiny cartridge loads and ejects. The clip removes. The trigger when pulled slams the bolt forward. This is almost unbelievable in its accuracy and overall looks and performance. It is a little gem! Nothing ever made to imitate this the most Germanic WW II weapon has ever come close to the absolute excellence of this phenomenal duplicate of the MP-38. History: The MP-38 was the first submachine gun developed by the German army since the MP-181 of World War One. Although the design has been credited to Schmeisser in many publications, it was probably designed by Erma. The first production was carried out at their plant. The MP-38 was made from 1938 to 1940 at the Erma Plant. The plastic receiver housing and aluminum frame and folding steel stock of the weapon were unique and the design of the gun had considerable influence on later submachine guns. The receiver of the MP-38 is made of steel tubing. The later MP-40 had a few variations and was popular with SS troops and was made in much larger quantities than the MP-38. Over one million MP-40's were made from 1940 to 1944. The model you see pictured here was not manufactured in millions. In fact, it is probably one of 3 or 4 at best. If Germanic precision and workmanship is your cup of tea (or schnapps) then here is something that will be admired even more than if you had the real thing.

PRICE: $3,800.00

Propaganda Poster (Item WAF 1-11)

DESCRIPTION: These posters recently were found in Russia and it’s believed that some of them were produced in Russian in towns where the populace was anticommunist and pro-German. They are decidedly old and some are a bit dog eared. Almost all have been folded and they were put away for many years. We were told that they were made in printing shops and in many cases sold to the liberating German army personnel and SS as souvenirs. Most are quite colorful and dynamic. Many of them came out of the Moscow Museum. They all seem to measure 34 x 24 inches. They were, up to now, a private collection of a man in St. Petersburg, who bought all he could find in the last 25 years. Russia is still chock full of German relics of WWII. They are priced differently according to the subject and condition. This one is a really dramatic Stalingrad-type presentation with Waffen-SS soldiers holding a defensive position in Russia’s winter snow. It’s certainly not a recruiting poster by any means. It is action personified and came out of the collection we have mentioned.
