GERMAN WWII PICTURE ALBUM (Item RAD 1-1)

DESCRIPTION: This is a very nice album that appears to trace a man's career in the Arbeits Dienste, Labor Corps. There are 142 pictures some of which are the usual friends-and-relatives types with village scenes, churches, hiking, and celebrations for a few pages, and then it gets better with Reichswehr membership and then some great glider stuff for several pages and then right into the R.A.D. experience for the rest of the album. It measures 13 ½ X 9 inches and is almost an inch thick. Nice historically important article.

PRICE: $ 225.00

Labor Book of the NSDAP (Item RAD 1-2)

DESCRIPTION: This is the passbook for a German worker. Seems to be the former property of men who worked as laborers in the Reich. It is not known if they were naturalized Germans or foreign workers. We have several of these and they are each filled out to different extents. They are also with work credits from different areas of the Reich. Fine condition original documents of the NS period. Size 6 X 4 inches with about 33 pages each.

PRICE: $ 25.00

 RAD Armband (Item RAD 1-3)

DESCRIPTION: The armband of the Reichsarbeit-Dienst, Labor Corps, regardless of its immaculate condition, this 8- X 4 ½-inch band is completely original. It is a printed piece with the insignia of the corps in the center of the wreath. It was possible an issue to those who labored while not in uniform; probably for a work-detail leader.

PRICE: $ 135.00 SOLD

Rare Blued-finish RAD Hewer (Item RAD 1-4)

DESCRIPTION: This excellent example of an RAD hewer is possibly the best one we have ever seen. This is the very rare blued model as opposed to the regular model with black-painted scabbard. This one has the oxidized scabbard fittings as well. The hanger is the scarce straight brown leather style that does not feature the flap that folds under the body of the hewer scabbard. This is a nice , honest, choice piece in immaculate and excellent condition. Blade by Eickhorn is "minty." This is as good as they get. The blade fits tight in scabbard and the hanger is also in excellent-plus condition. Remember, this hewer is not the normal run-of-the-mil type, hence, the price is hefty like a hewer, but fair, very fair, for this really wonderful dagger.

RAD Officer's Dagger (Item RAD 1-5)

DESCRIPTION: This is an exceptional RAD senior-officer's dagger. The condition is excellent+plus for both blade and dagger exterior. It is made by Alcoso and is unscathed except for the usual wear to the back of the scabbard plating from the fact that it was worn and this is the part that rests and bounces against the tunic on a daily basis. This wear, however, can only be seen on very close inspection. I have always believed this particular model to be the neatest looking dagger of the Third Reich. I guess it is because as a historian my favorite theme was always ancient Rome and the centurion and praetorian guard. This dagger looks much like the weapons of those elite warriors. The hanger that is always so very elusive is with the piece. This is the leather buckled hanger and it definitely saw wear and shows scratches, but no apparent flaking. It is a nice, honest set of straps that could be classified as good to fine. All in all, this is an all-over excellent example not easily outdone. The likes of this one would be hard to beat.
