Political School Insignia (Item NSD 7-1)

DESCRIPTION: This is a very rare pin used by the Nazi Party School for Leadership, Staatsschule für Politik und Führertum, at Egendorf. The eagle-head pin is in silver and the detail is great. Even the little swastika is evident on the cap of the dagger. On the back is the legend as seen in German above. Also, there is a moon configuration and ‘800’ for silver content. This is a nice one and we have three; all in about equal condition (good).

German Mother’s Cross in Gold (cased) (Item NSD 7-2)

DESCRIPTION: Here is what is considered the most beautiful of German medals. The Mother’s Cross that was given to recognize and honor this the most important office of the Fatherland, (The Mother). Adolf Hitler instituted this on 16 December 1938. This is the first-class award that was presented for bearing eight or more children. Unlike the two lower classes, this award in gold (gilted) was presented in a hard presentation case. The award was worn suspended from a neck ribbon. It should be noted that this design is the Christian cross. The back of the cross has the words “16 Dec 1938,” and Hitler’s facsimile signature. The front says” “Der Deutschen Mutter (“The German Mother”). Several companies manufactured these medals. This one is by the famous firm of Wilhelm Daumer in Lüdensheid. It is in fine condition with a little scuffing to the case. These continue to be more and more scarce with case.

PRICE:  SOLD -- Note: We have another beautiful one without a case for $150.00

English Nazi Badge (Item NSD 7-5)

DESCRIPTION: Here is an interesting badge done in the typical English beret-badge style. It has the eagle of the SS configuration on the skull with an oak leaf surrounding it. At the bottom is a scroll with the words “England Awake.” This is, of course, reminiscent of the German N.S. saying: “Deutschland Erwache,” “Germany Awake!” We offer this only because the comparison is quite stark and dramatic, and is cast in genuine silver (era unknown). The piece has the '800' silver designation stamped on it. This usually denotes German manufacture. I suppose this was custom made in Germany for some splinter Nazi of Fascist group. We found four of these in an English flea market in Brighton 2 years ago. Anyone having information about the organizational origins of this badge please contact us. The images shown with the badge are for historic interest. We do not infer that this badge has any connection with the British Fascist League or Sir Oswald Mosley.

NS Sports Patch (Item NSD 7-8)

DESCRIPTION: This is a patch that went on a brassard that was worn on the arm of sports judges at competitions. They came in silver and gold in color. The gold must be for higher achievement contests. The eagle on the silver was surrounded by oak leaves for spirited struggle, while the gold was surrounded by palm leaves for victory, as one would observe in the wreath of victory for gold medal winners in the 1936 Olympics.

Political Leader Grouping (Item NSD 7-9)

DESCRIPTION: This is one great group of awards and documents to one Ortsgruppenamtsleiter Friedrich Renke of Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg. The rank of political leader mentioned above is a high one in the political leadership corps. Basically, the folder contains three different awards conferred on Herr Renke, but there are notifications to him that he is going to be a recipient and in the case of the War Service Cross Second Class and First Class he received temporary certificates in 1944 for winning the medals in 1943. Obviously, he must have been at the front in 1944, but when he received the actual medal and document, it was dated 5 May 1943 and this was when he must have performed the act that won it for him. The 6 x 4 cards show he won both classes of the Kriegsverdienstkreuz and the NSDAP in Hamburg was issuing him a Vorläufiger Ausweis or temporary document. The full award is among the group, but the first is missing or he never actually received it. In May 1939, he received the 40-year True Service Medal in gold, while he was a Stellvertretenden Direcktor. The actual award certificate is there again with the Hitler facsimile signature with this there is a hand-signed letter telling him that he would be soon receiving the 40-year decoration. A member of the Hamburg Senate issued this letter. Renke was the Deputy Director of the Association of Hamburg Schools at the time, according to the letter. Encased in a red leatherette folder is another award to him when he was an Ortsgruppenmitarbeiter in January 1940. This one has the Hitler facsimile signature, but Dr. Meissner’s signature seems to be the real thing. The cover of the Mappe, or folder, bears the Nazi Party eagle. This award confers on him the medal for deutsche Volkspflege, the German Social Welfare decoration in recognition of loyal and dedicated service to the German nation and people. Also, included is a picture 5 ½ x 3 ½ inches of Renke and his lovely family: wife, son, and daughter. The son was a Wehrmacht officer. It can only be hoped that all of these people survived the terrible time, but the fact that this grouping is available today rather casts doubt on our hope, at the end of day.

The Greatest of all Third Reich Books, Deutsche Gedenkhalle das Neue Deutschland (Item NSD 7-10)

DESCRIPTION: This massive 11 x 14 x 2 ½-inch book is in immaculate condition. This is the greatest Third Reich book that chronicles the rise of the NSDAP. It was published on the eve of WWII in 1939 by the German National Publishing Verlag in Berlin and Munich. It is comprised of 415 beautifully decorated pages with full-page photographs in the most stunning photographic quality; 45 in all, but the best you may ever see. The book’s pages are decorated similar to a hand-designed medieval manuscript with gorgeous oak-leaf design in vibrant color. It is obvious that this was meant to be an important library archive edition, probably very limited. Near page 40 there is a very interesting foldout map that shows first World War Europe and the green areas represent Germany and its allies, and the red areas represent the nations allied against Germany. It is no wonder the words that came to every German mind were “Der Ganze Welt Gegen uns!.” By Germania we mean those who cling to the noble aspiration of the Teutonic past. This book needs to be cherished and presented as it is truly a treasure to behold. Finer pictures are seldom perceived today. We cannot say enough about this offering. It’s stupendous!

Reichsparteitag Photo Album (Item NSD 7-11; PARTY 2-8)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a fine Reichsparteitag (party rally) original photo album. All of these are original photos that were gathered together from the snapshot collection of a man who was a tried-and-true NSDAP political leader in the central office of the party. The close-up shots of Adolf Hitler (never published) and Propaganda Minister Paul Joseph Goebbels could never have been accomplished by anyone who did not enjoy special trust and have a top security clearance from the SS and SD. None of our “representatives of the people” would ever allow cameras to be placed by individuals in a crowd that close to their person without the Secret Service having conniptions over it. Besides some great snaps of the rallies, the man also shows some of the festive street scenes in Nuremberg and Munich. There are also pictures of the Ehren Temple, the Haus der Deutschen Kunst, the Führerbau, the Braun House, the Nuremberg Castle, etc. A pretty German maiden and an Algemeine-SS officer show up in several pictures. Perhaps he’s the photographer’s comrade, who is with his wife or sweetheart. The scenes in these pictures are, of course, familiar to those who have visited these sites, but here is the personal angle with people pictured beside some of these memorable buildings and stadiums. Almost every photo has NSDAP, SS, SA, RAD, and military personnel included. Every picture is candid taken by this party member and official. There are 102 pictures ranging in size from 2 ½ x 3 ½ inches to 4 x 3 inches to 4 ¾ x 3 ½ inches. They are all clear and fine photography. The album is 10 ½ x 3 ¾ inches and is ¾ inch thick with linen covers in excellent shape.

One Pfennig Lucky Coin (Item NSD 7-12; PARTY 2-4)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a charming one-pfennig (one penny) piece from the Reichsparteitag city of Nurmberg. This is basically an advertising token. On the front it says (translation): “The lady wears Rosenkranz today (Nurnberg).” Rosenkranz was a major clothing manufacturer in 1930’s Germany. On the other side you have the informational luck symbols; the horseshoe, 4-leafed clover, and the saying: “This talisman is yours for bringing you luck through the entire year.” This is a very nice Nazi-era souvenir.
