Anti-Jewish Silver Medallion (Item GEN 2-4)
|
| DESCRIPTION: This is an extremely rare, nonofficial medallion of the Third Reich. It depicts the German soldier in 1939 with the farmers shown working the fields and the factories in operation with the Hoheitabseichen, or NS eagle, overhead. Around the edges are the words (translated), "Greater Germany fights for freedom against the shameful Versailles Treaty." The reverse side has the frightful evil countenance of a Semitic face amid flames and supported by artillery shells and a bag of British pound sterling. The saying is (translated), "For this fights our enemy." This is extremely rare and the man it came from (see About Our Rings and Silver Insignia) said he would not disclose which company struck these pieces. The NSDAP did not allow blatant anti-Semitic pieces or paper handouts to be distributed so it was verbot even in its day and today's super-sensitive attitude in Germany. It just wouldn't do to show this to have been done by a company where the descendants are still around. This is an important and rare WWII object and would make an exciting addition to a collection of 1930's propaganda items.
PRICE: $225.00; in bronze. $275.00; in pure slver

German-American Bund Medal (Item GEN 2-8)
|
| DESCRIPTION: This is a very rare medal or fob from the Bund. It was a commemorative piece from "German Day" in New York in 1935. In the center of the eagle's chest is the American flag, and below is the German Nazi flag with swastika. At the bottom of the eagle's tail feathers are the letters that look like "VDG." I am familiar with German-American Bund and "friends of the new Germany," but I may need help with this one. Any experts out there?
