These medal bars are made with ribbons that are put together by a gentleman in Germany who has the original miniature ribbons and the great little devices that attach to them. But mind you, the bars are reconstructed from original parts, but all the same RECONSTRUCTED. They are quite beautiful and accurately structured. The man, who is a military expert, does intensive work in assembling these pieces and one can be proud to add them to any good WWII German collection. They are glamorous and, for the most part, “real.” |

This is a masterpiece and the historian-artist took a very long time to complete it. It is all proper as it would be. “Special” The Reconstruction of the Ribbon Bar of Josef (‘Sepp’) Dietrich Commander of the Liebstandarte SS Div. Adolf Hitler (Item RECONMEDALS 1-9) |

DESCRIPTION: Sapp won a myriad of medals for bravery in WWI thereafter his life continued to be laced with high adventure and danger. There is much about him on various sites on the internet. In the early Hitler years, he earned various awards as well and of course in WWII he distinguished himself with many more badges and medals adding to his already burgeoning collection. A natural frontline solider all the way, he knew how to extricate his troops even in the worst of battle situations. He always exhibited a warm fatherly attitude toward his troops (the Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler Division Dietrich played an invaluable part in the German re-capture of Kharkov and became the 27th German soldier to receive the swords and diamonds to the Knights Cross with Oak leaves. In April 1944 he was promoted to SS Obergruppenfuhrer. The equivalent of a Colonel-General in the German army. This fabulous reconstruction of his ribbon bar has 20 separate medals represented in two separate ribbon bars. They are an exact recreation with original medal ribbon for the most part except where our artist had to specially order a duplicate, but the duplicate is also perfect. For the most part they look to be original (left overs) from the time a couple of pictures we present with this offering show Sepp wearing his coulbe ribbon bar. Some of the medals are shown differently in the pictures, but that is simply because as medals are added, placment often becomes different. So this is one great collection item constructed in great detail and with intensive historical research. Very handsome indeed with prestigious historical significance. |
