Imperial Reserve Cane (Item KMISC 1-2)

DESCRIPTION: These canes or sticks were carried at conventions and sold as remembrances of an army reservists time spent in the mandatory service for "Kaiser and Reich." They were rather cheaply made from a form of German silver plating. They had various subjects formed in the handle. This one for an infantryman shows a Deutsches Landser firing his Mauser-98 from a prone position. The letters spell out Parole Heimat, 'Position Homeland' in other words (reserves). The stick portion is wrapped with alternating colors schwarze, weiss, rot, the national colors of black, white, red. In between the color is brown. The wrapping is quite intricate. This is a very nice souvenir of der Grosse Zeit. It measures 37 inches long and the cane head is 3 inches high and 5 inches long. Very fine condition.

Imperial Cigar-Band Serving Tray (Item KMISC 1-3)

DESCRIPTION: This was a tradition during the Hohenzollern Dynasty. Craftsmen would make a collage from pictures on cigar boxes and a bunch of European cigar bands. These would result in a very conversational tray used at tea clutches and to serve beer and wine as well. This one is large measuring 11 ½ x 18 inches. It is a little stained and slightly warped under the glass, but still is quite nice, and definitely a historic treasure for a good Imperial collection or for the cigar aficionado.

Tunic of the 15th Uhlans (Item KMISC 1-4)

DESCRIPTION: This is a tunic of the elite Uhlan (cavalry) unit known as the 15th Prussian Uhlans piped in cavalry yellow. This tunic brings to the collector the historic thrills of the hard-riding "Lance-at-the-ready, clattering hoof beats, and dashing riders of antiquity of more noble warfare." This is a small tunic as these men were small, but tough as nails when in the saddle. Please do not ask us for size as we have no way to determine this in conversion to American sizes. Inside the front flap there is a stamped '42.' Other numbers are stamped there as well: 96-43, 86-66, BAX V and the date (1941) UR (Uhlan Regiment 15). All buttons are there on this enlisted-man's tunic. Slight mothing here and there mostly in the piping, collar, and cuffs; not to detract from this wonderful relic of the early war's glory time! We are proud at Germania to offer this incredible tunic. Since uniforms are not our usual offerings we will not get into a long and tedious descriptive experience. Suffice it to say that here is a fine historically important item in unusually fine overall condition.

Imperial Eagle Paperweight Desk Piece (Item KMISC 1-8)

DESCRIPTION: This is great; large 5 1/2-inch diameter Hohenzollern Prussian eagle similar to the style used on patents of nobility. The detail is astounding! The detail couldn’t be better. It’s quite heavy. The bottom is covered with red felt. This is for the desk of the true Germanophile.

Menu from the Hohenzollern Palace, Berlin, 17. November 1879 (Item KMISC 1-16)

Silver Platter to a Retiring Officer (Item KMISC 1-18)

DESCRIPTION: This is a very nice small silver plate or platter in fine (800) genuine silver. It was a gift from the officers who served with an officer who was about to retire or be transferred in the years from 11/11/01 to 01/05/07. It reads: “Dem Scheidenden Kameraden-Herrn Leutnant Teipel der Offizier Corps des 7 Lothringische Infantrie Regiment No. 158. This was the 7th. Regiment of Lorraine.. In the center is an intertwined set of letters with the ‘7’ in the center and the dates of his service under a hand-engraved Prussian crown. The plate is quite beautiful, but rather hard to effectively photograph because of the flashback from the mirrorlike surface it is in finished in. It has about a 9-inch diameter and the engraving is all obviously accomplished by hand. On the back is the name of the manufacturer: ‘A. Schlamann’ with a number and a logo that looks like a wine chalice and, of course, the required ‘800’ silver content identification, plus the half moon and crown. This is a very nice regal piece from a much better time; Die Kaiserzeit.
