Hitler Youth Sport Shirt Patch (Item YOUTH 4-2)

DESCRIPTION: This one is for the National Socialist Students’ Union (NSDSt.B). This is the emblem for sports shirts. The closeness to the SS eagle was undoubtedly purposeful as most of the lads from this organization that was established at the Munich University went on to be SS officers. This is a rare 5 ¼ x 3 ¼-inch patch.

RADwJ Patch (Woman’s Labor Service) (Item YOUTH 4-4; RAD 4-24)

DESCRIPTION: This is the patch for the RADwJ (Reichsarbeitsdienst der Weiblichen Jugend). This was the female youth section of the RAD (Reichs Arbeit Dienst [National Labor Service]). This beautiful patch is thoroughly machine embroidered and has the reverse pyramid with RADJ in a tiny logo-style addition under the patch. (This is also embroidered). The numerals on the patch stand for what particular grouping the wearer would belong to. This particular one would be the XXVII and this Bizirke (section) would be “Westmark-Lothringen” (Saarbrucken). It measures 3 1/8 x 2 ¾ inches.

PRICE: $95.00

Honor Badge in Patch from Hitler Youth (Item YOUTH 4-5)

DESCRIPTION: This is the HJ Proficiency Badge (Leistungs-Kennzeichen). In the Hitler Youth every boy worked and struggled toward winning this badge and this was the basis of all the training. The badge was in metal. The color depended on the age of the contestant. Seventeen year olds received the silver-colored one. A cloth version of this was authorized for the sports kit. The badge, and the patch as well, are considered quite rare, today. It measured 3 ½ inches long.

PRICE: $125.00

BDM (Girl’s Hitler Youth Jacket) (Item YOUTH 4-6)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a very nice little Bund Deutschen Madel jacket from the Rhineland section of Germany. It has the black scarf and twisted leather knot holder plus the scarf has the “RZM” label. The material is the ultra-soft velvet-like doeskin used by the girls, unlike the rough woolen-like material used by the HJ boys. The jacket is in very good condition. The “RZM” tag on the scarf is a little frayed (but there). The patches-diamond and West Köln Aachen-are nice and bright. These jackets are quite scarce today. Some of these young ladies liked to have trinkets or fetish-type items that were worn, although not authorized, such as the edelweiss seen in one of the attached pictures. In the case of the one offered here, this girl like Bernstein or amber and you can see she wore several pieces of this gemstone that was considered the “Holy Stone of the Fatherland.” These tiny pieces were hand carved, maybe by her father or by a sweetheart???

Book Hitler Youth on Home Furnishing (Item YOUTH 4-7; ART 8-2)

DESCRIPTION: This is a truly rare book of the Third Reich. Its title is: Werkhefte für den Heimbau der Hitler-Jugend II (Work Booklet for the Building of Homes of the Hitler Youth). This is Volume II. Subtitle is: Die Gestaltung des Innerraumes (Organization of the Inner Rooms). The first must have been on actual buildings (architecture). Like so many books published in the Third Reich this publication practically glows with magnificent photography. It comprises 373 pages; most with stunning photograph, plans, chairs, fireplaces, beds, dressers, bookshelves, ornamental and practical ironwork, room settings, medieval-type vaulted ceilings, etc. The book is replete with amazing material. The opening pages have a statement by Adolf Hitler about the importance of architecture and special furnishing to the spirit of the movement and the importance to the future of the German people, and the youth, especially. You could not do better than this tremendous book, if you are interested in the aesthetics of the Third Reich.

Hitler Youth Recruiting Poster for the SS (copy) (Item YOUTH 4-9; PICS 2-5)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a great colorful poster that is a direct copy from an original. It depicts a Hitler Youth lad, who stands in front of the SS flag with the words “GERADE DU!.” That seems to translate to roughly “Forward with you!” In other words, step up to the Waffen-SS! It’s in beautiful color and portrays fine perceptive feeling.

PRICE: $75.00, framed as seen; $45.00, unframed

Book Hitler Jugend presented to Knight’s Cross Winner (Item YOUTH 4-10)

DESCRIPTION: This is one of the best German-edition Hitler Youth books that we have ever seen. Its 320 pages depict text and pictures printed in 1942 in Munich. It’s loaded with hundreds of photos and drawings depicting the activities of boys and girls in everyday HJ and BDM duties, ceremonies, sports, education, culture, music, and the arts. This is a beautiful meaningful book in great shape except for the bottom-right corner where it obviously was stepped on at one time and the cardboard corner was bent. The top-right corner is also bent. They are holding together well, however, but with the aid of some tape support within and without. The great extra feature of the book was that it was presented to Knight’s Cross winner Kurt Klinger and the inscription inside on the front page reads to: ‘With heartfelt thanks for your visit to the Gebiet (area) Mark Brandendurg of the Hitler Youth.’ It’s signed Knoog (Gebirgsführer) at Frankfurt on the Oder 1943. Oberleutnant Kurt Klinger was attached to the 89th Inf. Regt. of the 12th Inf. Div. The Knight’s Cross was awarded to him January 19, 1943. So we have here not only a great HJ book of historical pictures, but a great personality item as well.

Ordensberg Vogelsang Pictures (Item YOUTH 4-11; GEN 10-1)

DESCRIPTION:Here, due to popular demand, is another set of pictures similar to the Reichsparteitag set Item PARTEI 2-8, but this one is of the NS Political School at Ordensberg Vogelsang. Here it was that the future leaders of the NS state were trained in the beautiful stately school developed in the gorgeous Eifel region. These schools were for those who, in their Hitler Youth Service, had worked diligently and demonstrated that they could be said to be the elite of the upcoming youth leadership. Sometimes the person entering the NAPOLA was in the earlier time one who was outside of the age group in which they would have been members of the HJ, but their scholastic accomplishments qualified them to be applicants. Two thousand years of German culture certainly influenced the castles of order placements such as Sonthofen Vogelsang. They appeared like medieval castles, but with the recognizable style of National Socialist architecture aforethought regardless. It was the dream of every Hitler Youth lad to someday be elevated to an Ordensberg member. Today, Vogelsang is a national park and the beautiful building is preserved, but with all the wonderful NS statuary removed and destroyed. This set of cards at least shows what it was like in those days of high adventure.

PRICE: $25.00; for the set of 10 photos

Group One of Hitler Youth Magazines (Item YOUTH 4-13)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a group of five assorted issues of Wille und Macht, the leadership organ of the National Socialist Youth. The issues include:
April 1936
January 1936
February 1936
March 1936
October 1936
These covers are stamped ‘Printed in Germany.’ Why?...because they were sent to the Jugenschaft of the German-American Bund in the 1930s in Buffalo, NY, and are from a former ‘Bundist’ who was known to us before he passed on. He was a grand, old man and loved the comradeship of the Bund and scored high in sports proficiency. He loved America and respected his father’s Germany, but he told us that in 1945, he could see where the country (U.S.) was going. He left these books to us and made us promise that they would go to people who could understand their message. We know that there are people out there who will. So, after all these years, we now offer these very rare editions for archival preservation. They have a little over 30 pages each of text and a few pictures. They are culture-bearing offerings and not loaded with combat photos by any means, but they are a prodigiously important addition to collectors of the more important things of the Third German Reich.

PRICE: $135.00; for the group of 5; a very special price
