-Allach‘s Porcelain “Grosse Schäferhund” (Large Shepherd Dog) (Item ALLACH 1-3) |
DESCRIPTION: This is the large Allach German shepherd model number 76 by Theodor Kärner (It stands 23.8 cm high). The Grosse Schäferhund is one of the largest and most elusive of all Allach animal figures. This piece has the Allach entwined rune trademark and model ‘76’ impressed in the underside of the base. Overall condition is 100-percent perfect. Allach made only 143 of the large German-shepherd versions between 1938-1939 and 462 of the small version (Model II). The last one of these large ones we ever saw offered was on a British militaria site and it was being offered in June 2013 for 2,475 pound sterling; that was $3,792.00 on that date. If you are in the U.S., you will save an immense shipping and insurance fee if you ever found one in Europe or from the U.K. This is an extremely beautiful porcelain piece as Allach always was. Don’t miss this rare opportunity!
