Adolf Hitler Table Napkin from the Berghof (Item AH 9-3e) |
DESCRIPTION: Here is one of the napkins from the dinner service at the Berghof, Hitler’s mountain retreat in the Obersaltzberg high above the Bavarian town of Bertesgaden. This is the style shown in the book Collectors Guide to “Liberated” Adolf Hitler Memorabilia by Mark D. Griffith, M.D. On page 26 he identifies it as the formal pattern, white with a floral ribbon design running through the fabric. This is one of the large formal dinner napkins and measures 25 inches square. It has the embroidered Nazi eagle peculiar only to Adolf Hitler linens with the “AH” flanking each side of the swastika. The napkins are far scarcer than the silverware for some reason, and we have had very few to date. The condition is very good; a bit soiled, but not stained. Any collector of WWII memorabilia would do very well to latch on to this one. The price will soon soar on AH items (friendly tip).

Book Hitler Germany in English by Cesare Santoro (Item AH 9-7) |
DESCRIPTION: This is a book that lauds high praise on Nazi Germany. It is a big 431-page book. This book was written by C. Santoro, a world news correspondent, and printed in 1939 in English. It was published by the International Verlag in Berlin. The first part of the book is text where the “New Order” is highly praised. It goes into what Hitler and the National Socialists accomplished in their first years and how Germany’s existence was vastly improved since the election sweeping the Nazi’s to power in 1933. The back part of the book contains many pages of pictures (great pictures) many of them by Hitler’s personal photographer, Heinrich Hoffman. These photos depict the efficient system and the beauty of the pageantry of the NSDAP. It is certainly the most comprehensive book in English to exist. It goes deeply into the whole infrastructure of Nazi Germany. It depicts resolutely the vibrant economy of the state. The political organizations within the party are detailed in words and pictures: the RAD, the SA, Luftwaffe, the Army, and German Navy are shown. The status of women in the Third Reich, the youth, and redefined education resources are covered both in text and photographs. Every social program is covered; racial issues are naturally addressed. Here for the first time in most of our lives we will witness as Paul Harvey likes to say: “The rest of the story.” This is practically the only book of its kind in the English language. It measure 7 x 9 inches and is 1 ¾ inches thick. It is in extremely fine condition and is also extremely rare. One other of this book was recently being offered out west for $575.00.
