SA-Standartenführer Uniform (Item SA 5-1)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a positively great SA uniform comprised of cap (Kepi), tunic, and trousers. All pieces are labeled and in near-mint condition. Although we know this is a Standartenführer we have to claim we do not know further! The cap has a broad band-tresson in silver. We know this to be meaningful as would be the cuff silver bands. The color looks to be for the Bayersiche Ostmark, SA staff, or even Feldherrenhalle. We lean toward Ostmark because the trousers are the Lederhosen style worn by Hochland SA units from the Alpine area which also includes the Ostmark. The wearing of these type trousers was only permitted for the groups from the mountainous regions of Bavaria and the Tyrol. These trousers are, of course, extremely rare. I ask your help in further identification of the various insignia and trim of hat and tunic. One of the books The SA - A Historical Perspective by Jill Halcomb shows the Kepi style as being very early. Can you concur? The tress at the cuffs are also in need of identification. Any and all help will be most appreciated.

SA Lederhosen in Cloth (Item SA 5-2)

DESCRIPTION: Here are the issue Lederhosen trousers as worn by the SA Bayrische Ost and, especially, the Hochland Standarte. This was the uniform style adopted by these units after 1933. Originally, during the 20’s, they wore the actual leather Lederhosen. We have seen identical Hosen with “RZM” tags, but this pair does not have it; however, they are what they are! No other unit could wear this Trachten (costume): only these units and this and only this was the precise style used. They are of a soft moleskin-type fabric with the bib buttons being genuine stag horn. Quite rare and great with an SA blouse unit. (See various pictures above.)

PRICE: $350.00

SA Baby Bib (Item SA 5-12)

DESCRIPTION: Here is one of the greatest little pieces of "Kitch" that we have ever seen. This is a petite bib lovingly sewn and embroidered by a very patriotic wife of an SA trooper. This was for the child in the hopes that he would follow in the footsteps of his brown-shirt father. The embroidery depicts a little stalwart marching along with his swastika flag and armband. He is dressed in shorts (Oberbayern style) and wears the SA Kepi. Along the upper portion of the bib are 11 swastika flag motifs. This is an absolutely wonderful original piece of Hakenkreutz, patriot art. At the neck portion is a nice bunch of embroidered oak leaves and acorns. It measures about 22 x 12 inches when folded for wear. We love this one, but so will you.
