Book: “Sieh: Das Herz Europas” (See the Heart of Europe) (Item GEN 14-3)

DESCRIPTION: Von Stanley McClatchie in the U.S.A.
Sieh means simply See. This book like no other in the 1930’s demonstrated to the world what National Socialism was and what it meant to Germany.  The book was assembled from the very best pictures from the time of the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler (252 pictures) all selected by an American by the name of Stanley McClatchie who was obviously enamored with all the Hitler Reich stood for. The book was copyrighted by Hitler’s favorite photographer, Herr Heinrich Hoffmann and most of the pictures were by him and his camera crew. McClatchy was from Los Angeles and he caught the ‘N.S. Fever” when attending the 1936 Olympics in Berlin. What he saw and felt inspired him to put this wonderful photographic study together. He was as every red blooded American “should be” a staunch anti-Communist and he fervently believed that his country should be allied with Germany to combat and destroy the Bolshevik menace from the earth before the Western World was devoured. Every aspect of the N.S. agenda was favored by McClatchy and he in turn was treated like a visiting Prince by the Party faithful. German strident advances in architecture, art, health and pure joy on the part of the people did not escape his gaze. The forward to this book in German is full of genuine feeling in a very sympathetic admiring way. Stanley was a member of a wealthy and well-known Southern California family. He had lived in Germany prior to Hitler’s assent to power in January 1933 returning to Germany at the time of the Olympics in 1936. He found himself very impressed by the consolidation of political power that Hitler had engineered. By the industrial, technical and social revolution that had taken place in Germany under the NSDAP. After the war, the “Victorious Allies” and de-Nazification commissions sought them out for destruction. Original copies of this book are very scarce. A statement by McClatchie in yet another book could be possibly prophetic when he said “As for this man Hitler…well I believe we should take him back to America with us and have him organize things there just as he has done in Germany!" The book was published in 1937 (71 years ago) and except for a bit of scratching on its front cover, it is in great shape. It measures 12 x 9 ½.  It has a dedication inside from Walter Hoffmann's cousin to Heinrich Hoffmann to a Sigurd Anderson on behalf of Swedish German Friendship. It was presented in 1942 at Hamburg. It has a stamp that shows the address in Stockholm of the bookseller. We would consider this one of the best all around books on National Socialism in pictures ever offered.

PRICE:  $380.00  Don’t miss this one!!

Please Note: Photographs in this book are much lighter in complexion and are much less sepia-toned than they appear on this site.

Book: Nazi Picture Book (Item GEN 14-4)
The picture book (Nazi) extremely rare!  Restored and collected by Harvey Glick.

DESCRIPTION: This is probably the last one available on terra firma! Glick is world renown for his photographic excellence.  Somehow, Glick got hold of these original negatives; not one of these magnificent photos was ever published anywhere else. (You can be assured of that) They are mostly 7 ½ x 6 with some 7x 4 as well.  We can’t begin to picture all the pictures.  There are about 60 of them, all photographic treasures.  We do not wish to have them copied because that should be the right of the buyer alone, so we will show some of them in odd angles so as to make it difficult for the guy who wants to copy them for publication or whatever.  The text that is presented at the beginning of the book is the usual opinionated dribble and drabble by liberals, but it is the photography that is the prize here. The book measures 7 ¼ x 9 with a beautiful binding and gold inset letters.  It had a very limited printing back in the early 60’s, I believe, and it clearly states that is in a limited edition collector’s volume.  It is in fine condition throughout and as I have stated extremely rare as only 1000 were ever produced.

A Framed Official Set of Documents from the Deutsches Reichsbahn (Railroad) (Item GEN 14-5)

DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful set of documents that are nicely framed and with museum preservation. They are two promotional documents to a Herr Gerhard Evers; one dated 23 June 1939 and the other is 1 August 1944. The 1939 document promotes him to Reichsbahn Betriesswart. This refers to a certain railroad district director and the one from 1944 raises him to the official Reichsbahn Secretart, a very important office in the German railroad system. Both are signed in hand by the president of the Reichsbahn direction with official stamps of the RR offices. This is a very dramatic looking document with the large National eagle at the top in good presentation. The words Im Namen Des Fuhrers und Reichskanzlers is also quite striking and stands right out there. Of course this means “In the Name of the Leader and the Nation's Chanceler.” It also should be noted that each document has the embossed stamp of the Reichsbahn direction (Director's office).  This would be a great center display for any advanced collector of N.S. items and particularly great if said collector had a particular liking for railroad inspired relics of that time. The documents are professionally framed in a large frame beautifully mounted with non-glare glass and acid free museum quality matting. The frame measures 22" x 27".  The documents measures 9" x 12".  This is one of the most beautiful and dramatic document groups we have ever offered and is most reasonably priced.

PRICE: $450.00 (the frame cost $150.00)

Book: Aus Der Kampfzeit Des Deutschvolkifschen
Schutze und Trutzbundes

Signed by the Author
(Item GEN 14-6 & PERS 4-8)

DESCRIPTION: Here is possibly the most rare book we have ever offered. It is an original edition of the Shutze und Trutzbund. This title translates to the German Nationalist Defense and Defiance Confederation, a Pan-German umbrella organization for extreme right-wing groups which used the swastika as their symbol. Adolf Hitler gave one of his earliest speeches at the Schutz und Trutzbund meeting in Munich. It was the first time he had appeared on such a stage and the first time he had tasted the addictive rush of adrenaline at facing a very large audience. The group was considered the elite organization within Pre-N.S. Germany and its membership was a who’s who in Germanys Nationalist activists. Dietrich Eckart, Reinhard Heydrich, Bernard Rust, Gottfried Feder, Julius Streicher, Kurt Daleuge, Fritz Saukel, Karl Kaufmann and a host of other important names were on the membership roster. The organization was heavily anti-semitic and it sprang up in the wake of the failed communist Revolution of 1918. The group had the view that the Jews had conspired with Bolshevik traitors in trying to subject their Fatherland to Communist rule. The group was formed in 1919. This organization revived the ritual murder accusation as well as re-printing Rohling’s “Talumud-jude.” The book has 44 pages only, but they are packed with text (German) and remarkable pictures that are not seen in other books, contemporary or antique. It has pictures showing the early forms of the swastika and anti-semitic handbills of the time. A great picture of a statue of Hermann the Liberator with Dietrich Eckart's “Deutschland Erwache” slogan on its base. Loads of anti-communist material and pictures of the leading members of the bund -- three pages full (about 60 members shown). The book was published in 1939 so it is basically a history of the Schutze und Trutzbund and its work and accomplishments. It measures 8 ½" x 12".  The cover has the symbols of the organization. The book is written and assembled by Alfred Roth and is signed and dedicated by him. It surely was a very limited edition and most probably was only given to actual members. At the back of the front page there is a special presentation line that reads "this edition was specially produced for the herein named Gefolgsmann (supporter or comrade) and then his name is written within a lined space, Franz Steus Wirdt, and under this is the facsimile signature of Alfred Roth who was the Hauptgeschaftsfuhrer (business manager) of the Schutze and Trutzbund. Roth was the Chief Administrator of the organization. He was actually the man who founded the Schutze und Trutzbund. He was considered the foremost expert in the Reich on the “Judenfrage” -- the Jewish question. He was the one who coined the phrase, “Der Juden ist Unser Ungluck!” (The Jew is our misfortune.)

Across from the presentation page is a tone poem hand written by Roth himself and he signed it in 31.12.1942.  It goes like this:

Deutschland Den Deutschen
War unser ruf
Der Dion Drittes Reich
Den Boden Schuf
Deutschland Kien Deutschland
Das Judengeschrei
Mach hete die Welt
Vom Judenjoch Frei

Germany for the Germans
Was Our Desire
He who created the Third Reich
Gave us back the land
Germany “My Germany”
The Jews all wail
Please make this world free
of all Jews

We can’t stress how important this early book truly is. The Shutze und Truzbundes, The Thule Society, the Freikorps were truly the vanguard of National Socialism. Had they not paved the way so to speak, the party of Adolf Hitler might never have made it. We can’t imagine anything so prodigiously important unless it be a signed edition of Mein Kampf. But it is even more rare than that...this is for the true educated Germanophile who will be most fortunate to procure it. This is truly a historical treasure almost beyond belief

A Small Original N.S.Banner (Item GEN 14 -8 & FLAG 1-9)

DESCRIPTION: This is just as nice as they come and it is in very good condition, save for one small dime sized hole that you can see in the picture at about 7:00 outside the white circle. The banner is single sided and the white field and swastika is printed not sewn. The size is 30" x 50" and it has the bunting edge and fastening loops. This is the general purpose banner that had several purposes. The main one being that it is used to decorate a speaker’s podium but also to fly from a house window to show solidarity with the N.S. Party agendas. Banners like this are also to be seen in pictures of military vehicles of the Wehrmacht to identify them for German flyers so as to not be hit by friendly fire.

Honor Prize from the Reichsnahrstands Exhibition 1937 (Item RAD 6-6 & GEN 14-9)

DESCRIPTION: This is a beautiful pewter dish that is quite large, about 14 inches in diameter with the symbol of the Reichsnahrstand. This was a social organization that was formed by the Reichsminister for agriculture and the distribution of food-stuff, Reichsleiter Walter Darre. This was a powerful office empowered to intervene and regulate all agriculture. The title means “Reich Food Estate.”  The RNS was responsible for price controls and the quality of farm produce. Exhibitions were sponsored all over the Reich of farming techniques employed in all functions of farming; even with the antagonism against the Third Reich which is still prevalent today, serious conservation minded persons respect and admire Walter Darre and this organization for its outstanding work in the fields of animal husbandry, sowing the soil and generally making the lot of the farmer as important as it surely should be (favored!). Farming was lifted to the level of importance with all the other critical functions of governmental administration within the Third Reich. The Zinn pewter plate we offer is a prize given at the Fourth Grand Exhibition of the Reichsnahrstand held in Munich in 1937 (71 years ago). This was the honor prize given by the organization with the Bavarian county-authority. The prize was presented for excellence and supreme efficacy in sheep herding (shepherding). The dish is in solid first grade pewter and of course pure pewter is a soft metallic material so over the years a few dents and bulges have been acquired but they just do not detract from the apparent beauty of the piece.  The wheat sheath that lies across the swastika symbolizes the importance of agriculture to the well-being of the German nation while the sword is symbolic of the strength of the people as a result of effective use of the gifts of the earth.  A very meaningful relic of the great social experiment brought low by the terrible fratricidal war, this is a wonderful example of an important ‘Blood and Soil’ item. The Germans were quite aware that the health of the people came directly from the strength of the soil and its abundance.

German Civilian Gas Mask for a Child (Item GEN 14-10)
DESCRIPTION: This is an issue gas mask with wooden carry case. After the German people and their N.S. government saw and realized that the British and Americans were not just bombing military and industrial complexes but these allies of Red Russia had now seen that the war was nearly over and now it was time to murder as many innocent civilians as would be possible. In accordance with the Morgenthau plan, the firestorm that was visited upon Dresden by British and American bombers accounted for roughly 202,400 dead -- 3,900 tons of high explosives and incendiaries dropped by 1,300 bombers destroyed the most beautiful baroque city in Europe. Germany was already on its knees. So what could the reason be to do this horrible thing? This was truly a war crime personified, and basically was an exhibition of warning to the Russians that were now perceived as the enemies of tomorrow! (*editor’s note) I, Paul at Germania, sincerely hope that bomber Harris the Monster who chose Dresden as the main target for murder is even now walking the hot coals down there. When the British Queen visited Dresden (an amazing bit of cheek) in 2004, she was pelted with eggs because she refused to even offer an apology for the WWII murder rampage. As to this child’s gas mask, it is one of the results of the Dresden bombing. When the N.S. government saw with abject horror what the allies were capable of (outright murder of civilians), ttey thought that these enemies might next unleash gas warfare as the next exercise in horrific slaughter of the German population. Most of the German factories were bombed out of existence -- even the firms that produced gas masks but they had to manage to produce some precautionary devise to protect adults and the precious little children from the horrible gas attack that they felt was next on the Devil's Agenda. They undoubtedly were right. Gas warfare would have come forth had Germany not surrendered and I am positive that Berlin, Munich, Hamburg would have been the chosen places for a nuclear holocaust instead of or in addition to the Hiroshima cataclysm! This was also a warning to the Russians (it was only that!). The gas mask seems to be effective even though manufactured so late. The box with carry strap is truly crude, the best that they could do at that stage.

The mask is definitely a child size and has all its various elements. It has the issue eagle and swastika stamp to the side, very faded but there! The mask case and all parts are in remarkably good shape. Not pretty at all and the reason for its issue was not a rosy picture either. Man's inhumanity to man, women and children was illustrated here and should be remembered for all time with disgust and indignation. Remember the victors of a war write the history of their participation in war and unfortunately they write the history of the vanquished as well. Do you think the people of Dresden would get a fair hearing today?  I doubted it up to now. But presently revisionist history is starting to tumble the house of cards containing all the lies and distortions perpetrated by the ‘glorious Allies’ and their crusade for Democracy. Perhaps this little child’s gas mask can be considered a token of remembrance of this crusade of fratricidal war.

Ost Friesland Box
Carved Box from Ost Friesland (Item GEN 14-12 & ART 16-8)

DESCRIPTION: This beautiful hand carved wooden box is from east Frisia in Northern Germany. The motto on the top of the box over the Frisian Coat of Arms is interpreted as “Stand Up Free Frisians.” According to 16th century sources it was first spoken at the “Upstalsborn” in Aurich where Frisian Judges met during Pentecost and is traditionally answered with “lever dood as Slav” or in English rather dead than slaves. Tthe motto refers to the legendary “Frisian Freedom,” a right to accept no rule besides that which comes from the Holy Roman Emperor and the Christian God! In 1933 however the Frisians still obeyed their God but now the Emperor was replaced by Adolf Hitler who they adored and of course their motto stayed the same. This box was owned by a loyal NSDAP member who serve in the SA Standarte commanded by Anton Bleeker in Aurich in Oldenburg Ostfriesland. He was as his family relates involved in the raids against the ritual slaughter establishments in Aurich, all the “Schachtmesser” establishments named after the killing knife were all were burned to the ground.  This was orchestrated on the orders of the Gauleiter Karl Rover later this man was transferred to the SS and served as a guard at the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. The box was according to his family used to store his letters that he received while a guard at the camp and some pins and awards he received while in the SA and SS. The family for personal reasons retained all of this and destroyed some of it for fear of post war edicts. The measurement is 9 ½  inches long across the top, 6 inches wide and 4 inches deep. Besides the beautiful Coat of Arms on the top, the front panel has a scroll with Ost Friesland under a swastika.  The box is beautifully dovetailed with decorative feet underneath. The carved SS and SA symbols are carved as a matter of his intense pride of membership in both organizations. The carving was accomplished by a master and of course the historical importance is obvious. It was hidden away for 65 years and only recently did members of the family decide to sell it. The intense pride of their ancestor was long gone among these modern reeducated Slav’s and they made a decision that perhaps it was better to be a slave than to stand up for those old Friesian values in this “New World Order” generation!

Terrific!! Rare Reproduction of the Deutsche Adler or “Aar” (Item GEN 14-13 & NSD 18-10)

DESCRIPTION: This is an accurate facsimile of a political broadside that was distributed on patriotic occasions during the “Kampfzeit” (the struggle for power) 1932, the year before Hitler's ascension to head of state (Fuhrer). It was an appeal for the German people to awaken all that was positive in National Socialism in difference to the shame of such obsentaties as the Versailles Treaty, reparation demands, and revolution, usury, government oppression, etc. It has at its top the proud eagle of the Hohenzollern Dynasty (1914). The next 1918 shows the mean spirited eagle superimposed over the cap of the Bolshevik Revolutionaries. In 1923 the eagle takes on the figure of usury and foreign control and influence. In 1931, police brutality against the National Socialists but in 1932 the proud German eagle stands ready to take his place in the “New Order” as the sun wheel swastika looms in the horizon behind him. We do not normally deal in reproductions, but in this case it is just a great item with much historic significance and we wish to share it with our customers. We will accept only cash or money order for this item if you are ordering just one. The one you will receive will not have the magic marker lines through it.  We do this as many unscrupulous persons will seek to copy this broadside without remitting the very reasonable price. Great and historically important.  A “Perfect Replica.” Cash or Money order.

Wonderful Silver Eagle in Superb Detail (Item GEN 14-14 & NSD 18-12)

DESCRIPTION: This is the finest German eagle in jewelry style that we have ever seen. Let’s start with the fact that it is HUGE! A full four inches high from the highest tip of the wings to the bottom of the wreath of the swastika. The piece is finished on both sides with a loop cleverly hidden and camouflaged in one of the feathers. Twenty-six feathers that form the wings are all separately defined. Fourteen tail feathers are also to be noted. Now we must admit that we do not know for sure its usage or purpose within the mythos of Third Reich insignia. If you go into our home page you will see a narrative that is entitled “About our Rings and Silver insignia.” Here we relate the story of how we bought the most astounding collection of silver N.S. jewelry ever seen since 1945. If you read the article you will see that there was a vast amount of these various treasured articles. In most cases we were able to identify the use and purpose of practically all of the items. This magnificent eagle is one of the pieces that remain unidentified so far. We have some possible theories however. And, one of them would have to do with our gut feeling and our long association with relics of the Third Reich. The collector might concur or differ with us and certainly we would really appreciate and welcome any information or opinion on this. We do see a fair similarity to the Blood Order of the NSDAP somehow. The head of the eagle is very similar but his beak is open.  Is it possible that where the motto that went with the eagle on the commemorative medal is "And yet you have conquered" is possibly somehow transposed onto this eagle who perhaps announces “Germany Awake” (Deutschland Erwache!). Speculative of course, but speculation often results in truth emerging. The wings on the Blood orders eagle are folded down in respect and adoration of the fallen kameraden who lost their lives in the service of the N.S. party and nation. Could it be that this silver eagle celebrates the fact that these martyrs and their sacrifice led to the eventual victory of the NSDAP and the eagle in full flight pattern might just signify and celebrate that victory of the party in 1933? Yes, speculative but it makes sense because every November 9th subsequent meetings were held to commemorate the Putsch at the Burgerbraukeller. It has been suggested that the purpose of this eagle could have been the centerpiece of a honor ribbon with a rosette from which the eagle was suspended on a black, white and red ribbon. Another theory is that the eagle, ribbon, and rosette could possibly be an add-on to the flagpoles of the honor flags carried by the elite SA and NSDAP celebrants, more or less as an honor roll insignia commemorating and presenting these ideas as suggested above.  We may never know! The theory has been offered that it is possible that the widows and relatives of the fallen on November 9th might have been given these eagles after their original purpose had been achieved. The recipient would possibly wear the piece from a neck chain to show reverance for the martyrs and hope for a future of solidarity in the Third German Reich.

The eagle is in pure 835 silver and is so marked with a stamp on the tail feathers. The width of the eagle from the head to the tail is about 2 ¼ inches. The fact that it is fully finished on both sides indicates that it had to be very important but it also would indicate that is was also meant for wear at some point in time. Think about it! This Deutsche ‘Adler’ is extremely rare and beautiful.  It personifies the spirit of the Bewegung like no other talisman ever did.

PRICE: $2,400.00; surely worth much more!

Vorsicht Sign
Vorsicht! A Metal Sign of Warning (Item GEN 14-16 & WEHR 31-18)

DESCRIPTION: This is a warning to service personal and German citizens during WWII that they should be alerted to the danger of loose talk on telephones and other means of communication. The words Vorsicht Bei Gesprachen, Feind Hort Mit! This means: Caution with your conversation! The enemy is listening!  With such Freedom eroding laws & unconstitutional  measures imposed on Americans today with the ‘Patriot Act’ and ‘Homeland Security’ this sign has real meaning in 21st century America as well.  The sign is in heavy gage steel enameled over. It has four holes, one at each corner so it may be secured in place where it would be a reminder that loose lips are the friends of the enemy. The sign measures 8" x 4" and is in good shape with a little staining that will wash off.  We leave them as we get them!

Unser Familien Buch Album (Item GEN 14-17: RAREBOOK 2-15)

DESCRIPTION: Here in practically stone mint condition is the “Ahnenbuch,” The family book for members of the NSDAP (Nazi Party). These books are certainly rare today especially in this condition -- can you say mint? They had a limited issue and were generally presented by the NSDAP block leader to deserving families for special service to the N.S. community. They were actually serial numbered that’s how important they were. They were a gorgeous artistic production with entry pages for every aspect of the family’s life and participation in the Third Reich of Adolf Hitler. They had the approval of the Rassenpolitischenamtes of the NSDAP.  (See the enameled sign that we feature elsewhere on the site. It is from the above mentioned racial politics office.) The pages are in a beautiful parchment stock. The numerous pages open with a moving statement by the Fuhrer having to do with the importance of the preservation of family history. Followed by three pages of very meaningful sentiment on that particular theme. It then goes into page after page of family heritage records but they were never filled out -- the album is unissued. The professionalism is obvious, the layout is spectacular. There are fold out pages for information and photos from the homeland of the persons. Father and mother, then his/her birth and the births of relatives. His military service, his service to his country and his photos of his father, mother, homeland, marriages, anniversaries of family members. (Places for “Ahnen” (ancestors) his schooling and school friends.) The geography of all kin, with maps. Charts about his teeth, body and health. The first years of his /her children, his school grades, his service in the Hitler Youth or the Bund Das Deutschen Madchen. His occupation histories, his service in the German Labor Corps, awards that he has won, various houses and homes, pictures and experiences  from his labor corp service. Their son, their daughters,  pictures and life story. The children’s first year, their grades in school and the children’s service in HJ-BDM. The son’s service in the Wehrmacht. Their family’s service in the social welfare orginizations. Throughout the pages of the book you will see the logo of the RDK (the Reichs-bund Deutsche Familie) and it is embossed on the back cover. It is a depiction of the National eagle symbol that perches on the letters “RDF”.  The book is held together with large screws so that the book can be easily disassembled for effective and neat entries to be written and photos applied. We have said that the album is practically stone mint.  ‘Stop’ While writing this description I noticed pin head size blotches of wear at the very bottom and the top of the spine (hardly noticeable). Here is an item that could be considered the very essence of the social agenda of the N.S. Movement and what they considered their sacred core valves. Truly a historical Treasure for the Germanophile

Book: 2nd Jahre Aufbau Im Elsass (Item GEN 14-18)

DESCRIPTION: This is possibly the best pictorial book that depicts in photographs N.S. Party ceremonies, uniforms, individuals, important personages ever assembled. It is fabulous! Some of the best pictures of Third Reich glories I have ever seen. SA, SS, N.S. Political Leaders, High Officials, ceremonies, flags, standards, local costumes, workers, youth, and all that went to make this the most colorful era of modern times. The book is about the second year of progress and structure (Aufbau) in the area known as Alsace Lorraine. This area was hotly contested by the Germans who originally founded it in 1871. (The people speak German!) French troops entered Alsace Lorraine in November 1918 at the end of WWI and the territory reverted to France at the shameful Versailles treaty of 1919. The area was liberated by N.S. Germany in 1940 but reverted to France in 1944-45 at the end of WWII and has remained a part of France ever since.  Right after the war, the French government immediately stated a Francization? Campaign that included the terrible forced expulsion of the German population. About 130,000 young men from Alsace Lorraine volunteered to fight against the Communists in the European crusade.  40,000 of them in the Wehrmacht and Waffen SS were killed or missing in action. The people of the area were loyal to the principles and agenda of N.S. Germany. This can be seen in the faces that you will see in these pages. The book measures 9 x 11 ½ inches and is in very good condition. It has almost a hundred great pictures in super B & W photography -- soft cover. Absolutely the ‘BEST’- Really, the ‘BEST’.

Scrap Book Made by a Hitler Youth Boy in 1938 (Item GEN 14-21 & YOUTH 9-10)

DESCRIPTION: This to me is a wonderful testimony of a German who was full of National and racial pride in his Fatherland, his people and his Führer. Of  course these words of mine and his scrapbook will be an anathema to some of the folks who shouldn’t be on this site to start with -- 72 years ago from the time I write, this young lad collected pictures from books and pressed them into this little hand-made album that he designed. Along with this he made many dissertations  in glowing terms about Adolf Hitler, his party, his soldiers and workers -- the captions that he wrote are in the usual Times New Roman style but his essays are written in ‘Suttertin”, this beautiful style of writing was taught in German schools from 1915 to the late forties, it is beautiful script but difficult to read for modern folks even in Germany today. It is still used by the older generation. The scrap book is nicely designed as to its cover that was designed by the lad who we were told was 7 to 9 years old when he assembled it. The news pictures are moving and dramatic. There are 54 pages of text by the lad as he extols the virtues of his beloved Deutschland and there are numerous pages of pictures all personally selected by the boy for meaning and truly reflecting his pride and patriotic inner soul brought forth in this young lad's contribution to history if only in a little scrap book.

Book Entitled Deutschland ich liebe Dich (Germany, I Love You) (Item GEN 14-22; RAREBOOK 2-16)

DESCRIPTION: If there are those who could truly call themselves Germanophiles, they would have to have this book. All of what it means to be Deutsche is summed up beautifully in these pages. The beauty of the land, its people, its monuments, and the exuberance of the Volk in the era of the Third Reich are chronicled here; the Imperium of what we called the West. The book comprises 223 pages of hundreds of beautiful black-and-white images, and was copyrighted in 1935, one of the greatest years of the N.S. Reich. We cannot begin to effectively describe the feeling one gets if he or she is in love with the Vaterland, especially at that time—the time of Germany’s greatest past glory. The noble faces, the friendly people, the grand past all come together in this beautiful volume. On page 117 there is a picture of the newspaper king William Randolph Hearst as he walks the lovely streets of Rothenberg on Taube, while across the main entrance of the town is strung the American flag. The Germans loved America and its people regardless of its communist-inspired president who constantly worked toward a goal of exterminating Germany and Germans. The statuary, the soldiers and sailors, the farm folk, the factory workers, the youth, all bring a picture of vitality and pride in race, nation, and Führer. This is a delightful book, indeed. It has a linen cover and measures 7 ½ x 9 inches and is in very excellent shape.

Deutsches Mutterkreuz N.S. Mother’s Cross with Issue Envelope (Second Class) (Item GEN 14-23; NSDAP 20-5)

DESCRIPTION: Here is the prettiest of all the German civil awards. It is probably the most common, but is still enthusiastically sought after by collectors. To find one with the original envelope of issue is certainly rare and a great collector’s find. The award was issued in three classes:

First Class in gold for eligible mothers with eight or more children
Second Class in silver for eligible mothers with six or seven children
Third Class for eligible mothers with four or five children

The decoration was conferred from 1939 until 1945 to Reichsdeutsche mothers who exhibited probity, exemplary motherhood, and conceived and raised at least four or five children in the role of a parent. The Ehrenkreuz der Deutschen Mutter was a state decoration and civil order of merit, one of the most respected awards of the Third German Reich. This one we offer is the silver Second [Level], (Zweite Stufe on package). It is in mint condition with the envelope of issue that is actually even rarer than the medal itself, believe it or not! The German family it was procured from said the envelope was preserved in a cupboard right from the day issued in Vienna in 1940. The cross, though still in mint condition, was worn and the ribbon shows wear although still fine. This is very rare when with issue envelope.

Booklet Ein Kampf um Deutschland (A Struggle for Germany) (Item GEN 14-24; SA 14-21)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a small, but very important soft-cover booklet with about 32 pages; it chronicles the struggle of the National Socialists under Hitler against the bestial Reds throughout Germany, who were poised to take over through violent revolution. Their tactics, murder, riot, terror, and all that stood between these terrorists of the left were the stalwart loyal Storm Troopers of the Sturmabteilung (SA). The booklet shows the vile disdain that the Reds had for Christianity and Western values and illustrates through word and picture the reaction from Hitler and the Right. We know now that the Communist onslaught was defeated at least for that time through the heroism of the brown-shirt battalions, but later, Communism would succeed in its evil agenda with the willing participation of the Western Powers in its rescue of Stalin’s regime. Of course, we know that because of the intervention of Roosevelt and Churchill the Communists rose to world power that still exists, although by other names. This booklet printed in 1933 shows the epic struggle that unfortunately failed and the world is not a better place as a result. This is an important relic of the tumultuous era.

Swastika-Emblazoned Expansion Bracelet (Item GEN 14-25)

DESCRIPTION: This is a very interesting piece of jewelry that we have actually seen before in two forms. One is with a back that has a hinge and can be opened to disclose a photograph of someone that the wearer might think close to her, like a husband, lover, favorite pet? There is no evidence that this bracelet was German in origin and that is where it becomes so interesting. About six months ago the TV series “Hard Core Pawn” had a segment where an obviously Jewish woman walked in and showed Seth and Les (also Jewish) a gold-looking expansion bracelet and she proclaimed that it was formally the property of Eva Braun. The pawnshop determined it was contrived (inside, it had Hitler’s picture cut from a magazine) so they did not buy it and this caused a very hostile reaction from the would-be seller. Then it gets more interesting in the fact that a well-known, but dubious, dealer in military relics also has or had such an identical article on his web page along with many other so-called Eva Braun articles including jewelry and porcelain, beaded items, etc. Practically all have the typical “E B" as used by Eva. He has the POR designation where the price would normally go; this usually means the price is very significantly high. He describes it thusly: “This bracelet is in rolled-gold plate featuring a swastika in mine-cut brilliants, probably 5-point diamonds and a red-stone ruby or garnet, also mine cut at the center. One of the brilliants is missing. It measures 2 inches in diameter when contracted. The locket measures 1 inch in diameter. It has a patent mark in one of the links.” Well, dear customer, the one we offer is not a P.O.R. We have a price. Ours is not, however, a locket; it has no hinge for opening. Other than that it is exactly the same right down to the patented mark (identical). And you have our guarantee that it never belonged to Eva Braun and neither did the other two mentioned herein.
Is it an antique of sorts? Yes.
Is it pretty? Yes.
Is it worthy of being a legitimate collectible? Most definitely, yes.
Would we be willing to put the wool over your eyes? NO!
Do we go to various flea markets hunting up jewelry, etc., only to have it engraved “E B” and pass it off as Eva’s personal possessions? NO!
We offer this fascinating little bracelet as just what it is and that is most likely an American or British novelty bracelet probably made in the period 1895-1910. We know there are folks who collect swastikas and here is an exceptional one. On the Germania site there is a narrative with interesting pictures that is entitled “Click here to go to Swastika-Bearing Paraphernalia and you will see that “all that glitters is not gold” and all swastika adornments are not “Third Reich or Eva’s!”

Another Swastika Expansion Bracelet (Item GEN 14-25a)

DESCRIPTION: Since we posted the bracelet above at GEN 14-25 another such bracelet was purchased. A man saw our posting above and said he had one that he would sell, but he wanted a little more than we were asking for ours because his was the rarer type that opened to expose a picture and had the former-owner’s initials engraved under the picture compartment, and sure enough it was indeed. This one has the red stone intact, but the other stones on this one are not actually stones but, look a lot like zircons? One of the bottom brass links is marked “patented” in English. Anyway, like the one above it is probably American or British made but produced early when the swastika was merely a symbol of good luck in the English-speaking nations. If you would like to see other swastika-decorated articles and some explanation as to their usage Click here. We think you will find it to be quite interesting.

Der Giftpilz (Poison Mushroom) (Item GEN 14-26; RAREBOOK 1-7)

DESCRIPTION: This is one of two children’s books written by Ernst Hiemer and published by Julius Streichers Stürmervelag (Julius Streicher’s Publishing House). Hiemer’s other title is Der Pudelmopsdackelpinscher (The Poodle-Pug-Dachshund-Pinscher). These books were intended as anti-Semitic propaganda and said to be aimed particularly at children although they might be considered a sometimes rather humorous primer for adults as well. The agenda was, however, obvious that it was a book published to educate the masses as to whom were no longer in any likeable position in the new Germany. The cartoons were very crude and basically accusatory, but Uncle Julius certainly got his point across. Propaganda Minister Joseph Goebbels did not think a lot of the book. In his diary entry for 29 May 1938, he writes: “Streicher has published a new children’s book. ‘Terrible stuff.’ Why does the Führer put up with it?” Streicher’s company published another anti-Semitic children’s book. This one, written by Elvira Bauer, has the provocative title Trau keinem Fuchs auf grüner Heid und keinem Jud auf seinem Eid (Trust no Fox on the Green Heath and No Jew by his Oath). It was published in 1936—77 years ago. It is rare indeed as most copies were destroyed in the postwar years by Allied Army ‘Intelligence’ units and also by Germans who feared the KGB-style inquisition courts. (de-Nazification Star Chamber Committees). Copies can sell for as much as $3,000.00. We recently saw one on the ‘Olive Drab” website being offered for that amount now!
Der Giftpilz is far rarer than (the “Fox”) and very seldom found today. There are serious accusations against Jewry throughout the book, but if there is truth behind any of them, I leave that to you, the reader. I shall be completely noncommittal on this note! There are numerous quotes from the Talmud implying hatred against gentiles, child molestation, accusations of Jewish leftist affairs, and promotion of communism. Crooked businessmen and the Hebrew race is accused for the death of Jesus, who is called the greatest enemy of the Jews. This is a 100-percent original edition in great shape. An English-language translation of the book was published by US by National Socialist Leader writer Gerhard Lauck and thereafter marketed on his website for $16. Lauck also produced an Estonian-language translation in 2007, and he proclaims he is working on other translations in many other languages, as well. The book is certainly confrontational and naturally offensive to some readers, but it is a controversial book of our time. As result of being found guilty (falsely) of war crimes at the star chamber witch trials held in 1945-46 at Nuremberg, Streicher was given the death penalty. However, in a world that allows the victors of a war the license to do anything to the vanquished we of the so-called democratic west allowed this rag-tag gang of so-called jurists to hand down this, the most unjust verdict and sentence ever envisioned, then and now. Streicher died solely for his speeches and writings. He had nothing to do with the German planning or conduct of WWII. In fact, during the war he was not even in government. His execution was simply the vengeful lynching for no other reason than the fact that he was highly controversial in exposing what he felt were hidden facts. He penned the words that were his favorite saying often published in his gazette Der Stürmer: “He who knows the truth and does not speak it is a miserable coward”. The treatment of this journalist while imprisoned was not only repulsive, but cruel beyond any human comprehension. I will not describe it here for it is repulsive and sickening in the truest sense of the word. It was victor’s justice at its extreme worst. He couldn’t be charged with conspiring to wage an aggressive war like George W. Bush could be because he had been out of government in Germany since 1940. The inquisitors settled for charging him with “crimes against humanity” (count 4) by “inciting racial hatred” through his writings. This was of course “ex post facto law,” a law that suddenly appears for the first time that is literally invented to fit the indictment (like quick!). But the whole trial was practically devoid of any semblance of real jurisprudence. It was reminiscent of the Salem Witch Trials. Had Streicher been under the protection of U.S. Constitution and the First Amendment, that is, before “The Patriot Act” was enacted, he could not have been prosecuted as his comments could have been defended as freedom of speech. Instead, he and the others were subjected to a Soviet-style kangaroo court; a trial that Ohio Republican Senator Robert Taft objected to with these prophetic words: “It is a miscarriage of justice the American people will long regret.” A German rightwing leader a few years back said, “To his eternal credit upon reaching the scaffold to be hanged, Streicher showed his courage and sounded off with a rousing ‘Heil Hitler’ and reaching the actual platform, he spat in the ugly face of the hangman, John Woods, and said ‘the Bolsheviks will hang you one day.’ He then shouted, ‘Purim festival, 1946!’ As Woods pulled the hood over his head, his last earthly words were, ‘I am now by God my Father! Adele, my dear wife.’” Woods saw to it that Streicher died only after a horribly long 14-minute strangulation. All the others suffered basically the same horrid and purposely botched executions, as well. Many hundreds of military officials all over the world strenuously protested against this murderous spectacle of “demons’ work” carried out in the name of democracy and by countries whose troops had committed actual atrocities that often exceeded the war crimes by far greater than the so-called excesses that the defendants were accused of. Why do I bring this up? Because if a man can be murdered by official decrees by government functionaries and his so-called crime was writing articles unfavorable to certain groups then the real crime was obviously the sentence of death upon him. The right to free speech is not only found in the U.S. Constitution, but also in the Magna Carta and the British Charter of the Forest of the early 13th century, and of course we know that there was a commitment to free speech in the ancient Athenian Conviction. We know that it came about practically in all worldwide thinking in the Age of Enlightenment. If civilized nations such as the U.S. and Britain believed in such sound democratic principles then why did they not extend it in what they deemed a tribunal of “Justice”? Why was this man Julius Streicher so arbitrarily turned over for crucifixion? I conclude this psalm-like lecture with the comment: “Free speech then is not merely a gift bestowed upon us by judges and government ministers. Free speech and what it means and entails depends on people coming together or stepping forward to test its limits. A healthy democracy demands this no matter how repugnant the words that are said or written. A human being should be free to utter them or write them.” A great master of liberal philosophy Voltaire (1694-1778) said, “I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.” I rest my case! The book, The Poison Mushroom measures 10 ½ inches by 8 ½ inches. It has 17 full-color plates within showing Jews with various noncomplimentary comments. Hiemer depicted them as money-worshipping capitalists, but also as capitalist-bashing Bolsheviks. The illustrations portray non-Jews as fair haired, attractive, ideal Aryans, while Jews are shown to be dark, sinister, creatures; ugly, depraved, and dishonest outsiders. One of the story themes of the work is where a young boy shows a woman a mushroom in the forest: “The poisonous mushroom—just as it is often hard to tell a toadstool from an edible mushroom.” So Streicher Hiemer alleges that it is often very hard to recognize the Jew as a swindler and criminal. Provocative words indeed!, but would publishing them give cause for a man to be then deserving of being dragged away from hearth and home, tortured and then strangled slowly to death for an excruciating period of almost a quarter of an hour? Yes, I do ask that and God forbid that it could ever happen again. Somehow, however, knowing the nature of men, I know that it will, especially in this New World Order we have allowed to overwhelm us. We know offer this extremely rare book in wonderful condition.

Carved Wooden Eagle and Swastika (Item GEN 14-28; SA 14-24; WOODMASTER 1-9)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a carved-wood treasure from the N.S Kampfzeit (The Time of Struggle). Note: this eagle is of the style adopted by the N.S Party in the 1920s. Those familiar with the history of the Nazi Party will recognize this eagle as the style used on the cover of Adolf Hitler’s famous book, Mein Kampf. This was the first form of the national symbol of N.S. Germany’s Adler mit Hackenkreuz (eagle with swastika). The carving is striking; even better than much of the Black Forest wood-carving art. The style of this artistic offering is recognized by us as the classic eastern German art form possibly from the area of Berlin-Brandenburg or Silesia. This magnificent bird was a desk piece of an SA (Storm Troop) leader as it was the SA-Sturmabteilung corps that continuously used this particular emblem and symbol on their uniforms, flags, jewelry, and even their vehicles. The legend engraved upon the plaque affixed to the wooden figure is quite naturally the most favored bywords of the Third Reich, Germany above all! The wooden sculpture measures 15 inches high from the bottom of the base to the top of the eagle’s head. The wingspan measures 16 inches. The bottommost plinth is 12 inches x 7½ inches, while the plinth holding the plaque is 8½ x 4 inches and is 3½ inches wide. The wreath containing the swastika is 6½ inches in diameter. The plaque has another nonmobile swastika engraved at the left side and the symbol of the SA at the right and proclaimed proudly across the expanse are the glorious words from the national anthem of the German land the music of which was composed by Joseph Haydn in 1797. No song ever portrayed more nationalistic patriotism on the soul of a nation and its people than “Deutschland über alles.” Unfortunately today’s Germany is governed by liberals and the song is remarkably still used, but not with those wonderful words as its opening theme. In fact, they have banished these beautiful inspiring words along with the national colors and naturally any portrayal of the swastika is punishable with prison terms. How low can they go? Answer: “much lower!” Germany’s proud military history and its heroes of the past are downplayed in the public schooling. Its traitors glorified and its military tradition shredded with lies and horrid vilifications. So, I must confess it is a distinct pleasure to see this symbol of Germany’s past and the words of the “Deutschlandlied” proclaimed so elegantly. Happy is the feeling that I have that this marvelous relic has survived the war and preserved by a considerate cautious collector in the Fatherland for all of those years. This is surely an awesome treasure of the Reich.

National Socialist Letter Opener (Item GEN 14-29; NSD 18-53)

DESCRIPTION: Here is a really neat-looking period letter opener. It is 9 ½ inches long and features a Sonnenrad Hakenkreuz (sun-wheel swastika). Below this is a stylized eagle that looks like the Teutonic fibula figuration seen in so many books of the Third Reich dealing with ancient Germanic culture. In the eagle’s chest you see the configuration of a double "V" and behind the head is a runic symbol similar to the one used by the Hitler Youth and the SS. Below this it says “Völkischer Verlag G.m.b.H. Düsseldorf.” Obviously, this was a print shop or newspaper that had official National Socialist support and sympathies. It is constructed in steel and is in very good condition except for some slight rust spots on the back of the grip. It sort of looks to me like something that would be presented to the head office of a place like the “Brown House” in Munich as a promotion that might sell printing supplies or services to the NSDAP or its many facets within the inner structure of the party. It’s quite dramatic looking and surely a great addition to any N.S.D.A.P. collection or even a complete edged-weapon grouping.

National Socialist Women’s League (Frauenschaft) Brooch-Style Pin (Item GEN 14-30)

DESCRIPTION: This is a very nice pin from the N.S. Frauenschaft in Gau Franken. Franken was the Gau or political section that Nuremberg was a major part of in the National Socialist geographic and political placement. Julius Streicher was for a time Gauleiter of Franken. The Frauenschaft was of course the National Socialist Women’s League. This organization was dedicated mainly to teaching, and during wartime it provided help and refreshments at train stations, collected scrap metal and other materials for the war effort, ran cookery and other classes, and allocated the various domestics to places where they were most needed. In the east, members assisted large families to escape after cruel allied bombs made them homeless. The N.S. Frauenschaft reached a total membership of 2 million by 1938. This was the equivalent of 40 percent of total party membership. This pin is about 1 ½ inches in diameter and in excellent condition with the fastening pin on the back intact. This is a beautiful design for beautiful and patriotically loyal ladies of the Reich and of a sort we seldom see today in this the New World Order!

Political Leader’s Visor Cap; Gauleitung Level, Form IV Visor Cap–Tan Colored
(Item GEN 14-31; NSD 21-3)

DESCRIPTION: This is a fine, whipcord-weave, wool/rayon-construction visor cap. It features a one-piece circular crown piped in dark-wine red, one-piece, light brown, velvet center band also piped in dark-wine red along its upper and lower edges. It has a chocolate-brown, Vulcan-fiber visor and interior with crown wire and the front vertical stiffeners are intact, giving the cap a nice saddle-form shape with a high central gilt-colored peak and a stamped-alloy eagle which clutches a wreathed, mobile swastika in its talons. Beneath this, is an embroidered gilt–colored, oak-leaf wreath encompassing a three-piece cockade. Between the center band and the visor is a set of metal buttons. The gold cord and button color establish the wearer as having held the high office of an Ortsgruppenleiter (levels lower than this had silver chin cords and buttons). In the interior of the cap is a wide, brown sweatband and a lighter gold-colored rayon lining. Under the sweatband is the original brown-and-white oilcloth “RZM” (Reichszeugmeisterei tag for National N.S. materiel-control office). The overall condition is excellent* plus.

Political Leaders Visor Cap (Ortsgruppe) (Item GEN 14-32; NSD 21-5)

DESCRIPTION: This is a very-nice quality example of a WWII NSDAP political leaders visor cap in well-preserved condition. This visor cap has light-blue colored piping, chin cord, and button color (gold) and color signifies that this cap’s original wearer was an Ortsgruppenleiter (Local Group Leader). This was an NSDAP rank and title which existed between 1930 and 1945. The term first came into being during the German elections of 1930 and was traditionally and officially held by the N.S. Führer or leader of a town or city for the purposes of election-district organization. After 1933, though, the process of “Gleichschaltung,” the position of Ortsgruppenführer, evolved into being the supreme N.S. Leader of only large towns or cities. The cap bears the N.S. Adler (eagle) and the gilded wreath in metal plus the cockade of red, black, and white (the national colors). Inside the caps lining can be seen the Reich’s RZM tag describing the cap as Tuchmütze (visor cap) and the series as #495309. The size is shown as 3-X (small). The inside crown’s celluloid sweat piece has a printed label identifying it as having belonged to a Parteigennosse (Party member Flebbe). This is a very choice N.S. uniform item; all original, rare, and in superb condition.
